Holidays to Giardini Naxos, Sicily |
A beautiful sandy bay sweeps for the length of this historic town, attracting many ocean liners, motor boats and yachts to its naturally sheltered waters.
The
first Greek settlers developed the town of Naxos in 735 BC, so the town
has seen some history before evolving into the bustling tourist resort it
now is. The seafront road is geared up for visitors needs with many restaurants
and traditional Italian food outlets, mixed in with the ever present tourist
supplies of local pottery, postcards and even a couple of newsagents selling
English newspapers if you can’t bare knowing what’s going on
at home!
There are lots of water sports available from this town including parascending, water skiing and sub aqua trips with experienced professional divers. Boat trips are also available for those that wish to stay above the water with very entertaining trips by local singing boatmen to explore the hidden caves and coves around the stunning Isola Bella and Mazzaro Bay.
There are so many good restaurants, bars and pizzerias it is worth just turning up and trying them!
