Skiing Location
This is a pleasant town both in winter and summer. It is 10 kilometres from
Piano Provenzana, a departure point for excursions up to the craters, for
skiing and walking.
The town of Linguaglossa has a 17th Century cathedral and several other interesting churches. There is a museum of the Peoples of Sicily.
Local
Wine
Excellent Italian wines are produced in
Linguaglossa and can be purchased locally. There is a festival of wine in
November as well as the Feast of Saint Martin. Sausages flavoured with wild
fennel seeds are very famous and available from local butchers.
Local Food
Close by on the road up Mount Etna is a
wonderful restaurant and hotel/mountain refuge called Ragabo. In summer
it is pleasant and cool. The food is magnificent and in winter you can eat
your pasta next to a cosy log fire.
