Appreciate the difference...
Some towns are especially lively at night. The towns are not like in Great Britain where sometimes there can be a bit too much alcohol and silly behaviour on show. The Sicilians have a sensible attitude to alcohol and you will rarely see people acting aggressively or in a drunken stupor.

An air of sophistication...
Going out to a restaurant is very popular for the whole family and so there is an air of sophistication and socialisation. Young people will stand talking in the market squares as they drink Coca Cola which is extremely popular. The Sicilians can seem quite loud and expressive but they are enjoying themselves and discussing the ways of the world.

A long summer's night...
In summer, towns like Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Zafferana Etnea, Giarre, Catania, Aci Tezza, Stazzo and Fondachello, are busy to the early hours of the morning and the towns seem to buzz with excitement. If you choose to stop in these places be prepared to watch the world go by quite late on and don’t be surprised to see babies out at one and two in the morning when it is cooler for them.

Dont like the noise?
In the other seasons the towns are much quieter but still quite lively. If you want a really quite life with no noise then choose a villa in the country!
