There are many different companies offering organised tours with a vast array of activities . Tours can be booked online with companies such as Academic Tours (www.academictours.com/sicily) or go to larger tourist resorts such as Taormina (shops down the main street advertise tours). You can go on historical visits including Greek, Roman and medieval history, church visits, excursions up the to the top of Mt. Etna, wine tours, boat trips, the list is endless!

Train around Mount Etna

One activity which is a delight to do is a train trip around Mt. Etna . It is called the Circumetnea Railway. The whole journey takes about 7 hours but you can select parts of it if you want. The views from the this special train are spectacular as it weaves its way between the orange and lemon groves and vineyards. There are different stations where you can get on, and off.
