Trekking and Walking

Everyone can enjoy walking on Mt. Etna , it has many varied routed walks. If you are a serious walker you can contact the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) and they will send you walks and details of refuges open in the countryside.

Walks can be conducted around towns or out in the wilds of the countryside. As you explore Mt. Etna you will see that the vegetation changes as you go higher up the mountain. Many walks are signposted and easy to follow, although it is a good idea to get a guide book that are easily available in most towns. The Sicilians love to have their Sunday walk and you will see them with their picnics.
