The area is renowned for it's ancient castle perched on a rock overlooking the sea towards mainland Italy. Local towns of Taormina, Giardini Naxos are tourist favourites and if you like the Godfather films, take a trip to the hilltop town of Forza D'Agro one of the locations used by Francis Ford Copolla for filming.
